This will be the Spaniard's sixth Australian Open Final appearance on Sunday when he steps inside the Rod Laver Arena against the Russian, Daniil Medvedev. 

Nadal is one victory away from creating history as he chases an unprecedented 21st Grand Slam victory which will make him the only male tennis player to have achieved this feat.

Daniil Medvedev will play Rafael Nadal in the finals of the Australian Open. Medvedev defeated Henri Laaksonen, Nick Kyrgios, Botic van De Zandschulp and Maxime Cressy in the first 4 rounds of the Grand Slam respectively. 

In the semifinals, he played Felix Auger-Aliassime in a nail-biting 5 set match and was victorious. He defeated one of the contenders of Aus Open, Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals.
