Biggest market value decrease of football players

There’s a definite impact on the valuation of a player when they perform as well as when they don't. With leagues already on match day 8 and 9 respectively in different countries, players have been getting valued on their form lately. It’s always better for the clubs and also the players to see their stocks rising to affect business in various areas of the game.

The most accurate valuation of the players and clubs can be seen on Transfermarkt where even a bit of fluctuation is recorded and portrayed. As the winter transfer window is approaching in a bit more than 2 months clubs will be hoping to cash in on players with different valuations and will be hoping that their stocks rise.

Bayern Munich was hoping to replace the departing Robert Lewandowski with a proven player 2 seasons ago and bought the Liverpool talisman. He couldn’t replicate the form he had for the Merseyside Red and was later sold to Saudi Arabian giants Al Nassr where he now plays alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. He has not been as prolific as he was, due to which he has lost the most of his valuation. Now into the later years of his career, he'd not even considered how highly he is rated as well.

Jadon Sancho - Manchester United 

Market value - 32 million 

Decrease - 28 million 

Quick feet Jadon Sancho was an instant hit while playing for the German giants Borussia Dortmund. The best possible replacement for Ousmane Dembele, he was the perfect winger but wasn’t the best for the Red Devils after they splashed a whopping 85 million euros plus add-ons. Also currently he is not even registered for the first team due to having a fallout with coach Erik Ten Hag which has also decreased his stocks. He is being linked to a move back to Dortmund.

Marc Cucurella - Chelsea

Market value - 28 million 

Decrease - 27 million 

A Barcelona graduate and with time in Getafe, the fuzzy-haired left-back arrived in England with Brighton calling. An important player for them, he was sold on a large profit with the blue and whites receiving 65 million euros for his services from Chelsea. Not the best of his last season for the West London side he was surplus to requirements this season but has made an entry in the first team with some good displays.

Antony - Manchester United

Decrease - 25 million 

He followed on with the path steps of his coach at Ajax to Manchester United. A trusted deputy to Erik Ten Hag he was bought for 95 million euros with a further 5 million euros in add-ons. Starting with the Red Devils the best way possible with 3 goals in his first 3 matches, his progress slowed down with no good performances, and also his first start against Sheffield United on match day 9 after a long time, he will be hoping to bounce back and perform well.

Wesley Fofana - Chelsea

Decrease - 25 million 

A record transfer fee was paid for the former Leicester City defender of around 75 million plus 5 million in add-ons. The defender was adamant to be a great addition to the squad but has been dealing with injuries ever since. Played on 15 league games in season 2022-2023 and hasn’t even had a start in the 2023-2025 season he has not been able to show his talent on the pitch. He was ruled out in July after tearing his ACL.

Nabil Fekir - Real Betis

Decrease - 25 million 

Once a prime target for Arsenal and Liverpool, he even signed for the Anfield club but failed his medical after a medical issue occurred in his left knee that led him to sign for Spanish side Real Betis for a merely low sum. He has played well with the green and whites but was an exceptional player for Lyon in France. With no games under his belt for the current season, he will be hoping to add some value to his stocks and the team with his performances.
