Argentina vs Saudi Arabia | FIFA WC 2022 | Score Prediction | Preview | H2H | Lineups
The Group C of the FIFA World Cup 2022 will open the gates on Tuesday (November 22) as two-time champions Argentina stage Saudi Arabia at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.
Emotions will be riding high for a player named Lionel Messi, who carries the burden of an entire nation to end their 36-year wait for a World title. Saudi Arabia on the flip side will look to spoil the party of Messi and Co as they look to make a statement ahead of the contest.
Argentina vs Saudi Arabia Head to Head
The two nations have met on four occasions in the past with the South American side dominating the affair with two wins and two draws. The only competitive meeting between the sides came in the final of the 1992 FIFA Confederation Cup, the first event of its kind where the continental champions squared off against one another.
Argentina won the final in convincing fashion as they ran out winners by 3-1 at the King Fahd II Stadium in Riyadh to clinch the inaugural tournament. So winning a FIFA Trophy in Middle-East land is not a new experience for Argentina. The most recent meeting between the sides came in November 2012 which ended in a stalemate of 0-0.

Argentina vs Saudi Arabia Group Details
Argentina will be the favorites to win Group C and should get the job done against Saudi Arabia before they march on to the next stage of the tournament. If Messi and Co. come unscratched against the Asian side they can then book their passage to the next round where they meet North American powerhouse Mexico at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail on Saturday (November 26).
The same day will also see Saudi Arabia take on Poland which will be a huge contest in deciding the second spot in the group if Argentina dominate as they are expected.
The final Matchday will either be a must-win contest or a rest day for Argentina as they take on Poland at Stadium 974 in Doha on Wednesday (November 30). If Saudi Arabia do have anything to play for then their clash against Mexico on the same day at the Lusail Iconic Stadium will provide them an opportunity to progress to the Round of 16 for the first time in 28 years.
