Real Madrid keeping a close eye on French wonderkid
Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Rennes youngster Eduardo Camavinga as a long-term replacement for their midfield dynamo Casemiro.
The 17-year-old has grabbed the attention of several big clubs across Europe after his incredible spell of form in France.
And, he has also managed to catch the eye of Real Madrid manager and France football icon Zinedine Zidane.
According to reports in Spain, the Los Blancos are willing to pay up to £50 million for the services of the wonderkid.
The 17-year-old has proven his potential in Ligue 1 this season after making 32 appearances in all competitions. This is really impressive for someone who turned 17 just three months back.
The France Under-21 star has managed to score one goal and one assist for Rennes this season from defensive midfield.
Zidane will however have to dig deep to sign him this summer as he is under contract with Rennes until 2022.
Reports in France suggest that the Ligue 1 club will demand a fee of around £83 million for their priced asset.
Real Madrid have been heavily reliant on Casemiro this season and Zidane wants more options as he wants to give the Brazilian a breather next season whenever he has the luxury to.
The Spanish giants have won just one of the four games that they have played without the 27-year-old this term.
And, Zidane reckons that he will need more options to deputize for the Brazilian.
And, he is said to be keen for Camavinga to learn from the Brazilian before replacing him on a long-term basis in the future.
Real Madrid have also reportedly made an offer for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.
The La Liga giants are also set to battle it out against Liverpool for Marcelo Brozovic from Inter Milan this summer.
So, we can expect a pretty busy window at Santiago Bernabeu next time out.
