PSG all set to tempt Guardiola away from Manchester City with lucrative contract
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly planning to offer the Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola a lucrative contract to land him at Parc des Princes this summer.
Guardiola’s current contract with City keeps him at the club for one more season, but there have been rumors in the past few weeks that the Spaniard might be looking for a change.
Guardiola has not spent more than four seasons at any of his previous clubs so far. He has been a manager in the top flights in Spain, Germany and England and has been a title winner everywhere.
The only little blip in his managerial career so far is that he has not been able to win the Champions League since he moved away from Spain. He had the team to do so at Bayern Munich and he has had the team to do so at Manchester City too.
This might be the season where Guardiola pushes for the Champions League title with City, as the Premier League title seems out of their reach now.
But, whether or not it happens, the clubs around the world will keep an eye on Guardiola as he constantly looks for different challenges and he might be making his mind to take up another challenge somewhere else.
Domestic title in France is not much of a challenge with PSG as they have already won six league titles in the last seven years and are the strongest team in France by a fair margin.
But, winning the Champions League with PSG is something that might interest Guardiola as they have got the squad to challenge in Europe.
The French champions are one of the top contenders in Europe this season too. They topped their group with 16 points in six games and will now face Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16.
