Premier League quartet want former Liverpool midfield ace

Premier League quartet of Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all part of a five-way battle for out of favour Juventus midfielder Emre Can, according to reports.

The German international moved to the Turin giants from Liverpool in the summer of 2018. However, the former Liverpool ace has struggled for gametime at the Allianz Stadium.

The 26-year-old was left out of the Maurizio Sarri derby as Juventus lost 2-1 to Napoli on Sunday. He was officially down with flu, as Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic and Rodrigo Bentancur started in the midfield trio.

Adrien Rabiot came off the bench while former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey was an unused substitute.

Can is wanted by the four Premier League clubs as well as German giants Borussia Dortmund and his former club Bayern Munich.

The midfielder joined Juventus for free in 2018 and has a contract until 2022. However, it is understood that the Old Lady could sell him for a fee around £25million.

According to reports in Germany, Borussia Dortmund are leading the queue for the services of the versatile German international.

However, Can will have to accept a significant pay-cut no matter where he ends up.

He is on a reported £260,000 per week at Turin which could switch off potential suitors. Dortmund are willing to pay him £160,000 a week instead.

Manchester United are in desperate need of another midfielder with Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay injured. Nemanja Matic is also aged 31 now and will be out of contract in the summer.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta is getting plenty out of Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira while Matteo Guendouzi is the only other option in the holding midfield role.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, is without Moussa Sissoko. He looks set to sell Victor Wanyama and has publicly criticized record-signing Tanguy Ndombele.

Everton are also strongly linked with the German. However, it is believed that Can is not willing to play for the Toffees or Manchester United as they both are the biggest rivals of his former club Liverpool.

Bayern are also monitoring the situation as they also need a squad overhaul. Their former player could prove to be an important addition to the Bavarian giants.
