Switzerland 2022 World Cup Guide | All you need know

Three-time FIFA World Cup quarterfinalist Switzerland are geared to make its 13th appearance as they try to make it to the later stage of the tournament.

Backed by the firepower of midfield maestro Granit Xhaka, goalkeeper Yann Sommer and talisman Xherdan Shaqiri, Switzerland have all the tools in its arsenal to go to the later stage of the FIFA World Cup 2022. So here is a look at their journey before they start their adventure.

Qualification campaign for Switzerland

Switzerland were one of the major reason why four-time champions Italy did not make it to the FIFA World Cup 2022 as they won their qualifying group. With five wins and three draws, they piped European champions Italy to make the FIFA World Cup and thereby condemning the Azzuri’s to the playoffs where they faced elimination. The Swiss were one of five teams who did not lose a single game in the qualifying round.
