The Weekly Premeir League Review: Matchday 18

Premier League Match Day 18 is here and we are even nearer to the Christmas break with some exciting matches coming towards us. We will be done with half of the season before the new year as teams will be looking to bolster their team during the winter transfer window.

Aston Villa vs Sheffield United  

Time: 1:30 am

Match facts: Aston Villa is proving to be the new member of the Big Six and most likely be replacing Chelsea since they are not doing well. They are third on the Premier League table and are flying under the guidance of Unai Emery. Sheffield United are in a battle to keep themselves in the Premier League right now and will hope to take a win against a very tough Aston Villa side to start their winning run.

Manchester City vs Brentford  

Time: Postpone  

Match facts: The match has been postponed due to Manchester City competing in the FIFA Club World Cup currently with the final yet to be played against Fluminese.  

West Ham vs Manchester United  

Time: 6:00 pm

Match facts: Manchester United were dominant in their stalemate with Liverpool at Anfield. They’ll be hoping to perform at the same level against an in-form West Ham side who have been relentless in their past matches with their position in the table improving with every match they are playing. Manchester United are dealing with some serious injury issues with many first-team players not available, although they’ll be happy with the return of Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane.

Fulham vs Burnley  

Time: 8:30 pm

Match facts: Fulham will be without Raul Jiminez as he received a red card in the previous match which they lost as well. Burnley on the other side will be hoping to show some form from now on or it’ll be too late for them to recover from the relegation zone. Fulham has also dropped to the bottom half of the table and will likely be hoping to win against a relegation-battling side to start their run of good form.

Luton Town vs Newcastle  

Time: 8:30 pm

Match facts: Luton Town's match against Bournemouth last time out was suspended due to their captain's health getting bad as he felt unconscious on the field. Tom is fine as per reports coming out and has been discharged and was told that he suffered a cardiac arrest. Luton have put some fine performances in the previous games and they’d be looking to show the same spirit against Newcastle as well who have been pretty dominant over that top half of the table.  

Nottingham Forest vs Bournemouth  

Time: 8:30 pm

Match facts: Nottingham Forest has sacked their manager Steve Cooper after a bad run of form that has put the team near the relegation zone. Nuno Espirito Santo will take charge of his first game against an in-form Bournemouth side who looks to have caught up some form with Dominic Solanke leading their attack with some firepower. He currently has 8 goals to his name with more goals yet to come from him.  

Tottenham vs Everton  

Time: 8:30 pm

Match facts: Tottenham have recovered from those setbacks they suffered after not winning a lot of their games after match day 10. They are currently suffering from a lot of injuries to first-team players and are looking to bolster their squad in the winter transfer window as well. They will hose an Everton quad who have not suffered a minor setback due to their 10-point deduction as they keep on winning almost every match since the punishment they are going through right now.

Liverpool vs Arsenal  

Time: 11:30 pm

Match facts: Crowning off Match Day 18 will be the best fixture between the Anfield Giants and Gunners from the Emirates. Premier League is best at making fixtures as it’s certain to have the best match he’s of the week at the last for everyone to enjoy and while we see both the teams standing at second and first place respectively, it won’t be just a match for the position but also for a win among the hearts of the fans considering how well both the teams have been performing.
