Real Madrid set to offer €70m plus star attacking midfielder for world-class defender

Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly willing to offer Napoli €70 million and James Rodriguez for the signature of Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Senegalese international is regarded to be among the best centre-backs in the world following his sensational form for the Naples club in the last few years.

The 28-year-old has a long list of suitors across Europe and Real Madrid are one of the most prominent names in that list. And, the Los Blancos are set to make a somewhat irresistible offer for the towering defender.

According to reports in Spain, the Spanish capital club are interested in signing Koulibaly and are willing to offer €70 million along with James Rodriguez in exchange for him. The report also claims that Manchester City were keen on signing the 28-year-old as well but have backed off from negotiations.

Koulibaly is one of the best defenders in the world and it was always a general consensus that he would leave Napoli sooner rather than later for a bigger club.

Real Madrid are one of the biggest clubs in the world and could be the perfect destination for the Senegalese international as he could be a ideal successor to skipper Sergio Ramos.

On the other hand, €70 million and James Rodriguez for the Ivorian defender seems to be a great deal for Napoli. James Rodriguez has been a long-term target of the Italian giants and they could finally get their man.

The Italian giants are also believed to have changed their stance on Koulibaly, regarding whom they have shown a very resilient approach in recent years.

Following the unrest at the club earlier this season which cost Carlo Ancelotti his job, the club are also looking to sell some of their senior players in order to bring more authority of the chairman Aurelio de Sanctis in the dressing room.

This might be the reason why the Italian giants are looking to cash in on Koulibaly as well and that deal could be a great one for them.
